- On Feb. 18., the Instructional Technology Council awarded SCAD-eLearning two distinguished Awards for Excellence at the ITC eLearning 2008 conference in St. Petersburg, Fla. SCAD-eLearning was among five colleges to receive an Award for Excellence, and only one of two colleges to win multiple awards. The college’s Drawing 101 class won the Outstanding Online Course award, and the Outstanding Student Service was awarded for the effective and innovative services and support of all SCAD students enrolled in eLearning courses. The ITC Award for Excellence for an Outstanding Online Course is the third national award for course design since the establishment of SCAD-eLearning in 2003.
- In 2007, the Instructional Technology Council awarded SCAD-eLearning the award for Outstanding Distance Education Program at the 2007 ITC Awards for Excellence in Distance Education.
- Blackboard Inc. recognized the SCAD-eLearning course ITGM 723: Human-centered Interactive Design as a Greenhouse Exemplary Course Award Finalist. Daniel Stanford, a SCAD-eLearning instructional designer and SCAD alumnus, developed the course.
- The National Academic Advising Association awarded a 2006 Advising Technology Innovation Awards Certificate of Merit to the SCAD-eLearning Online Student Orientation.
- The U.S. Distance Learning Association awarded the silver award for Best Practices in Distance Learning Programming to the historic preservation degree program offered through SCAD-eLearning.
