World-renowned artist PES to headline SCAD's Inspire 08
Event to feature presentations, networking sessions with broadcast design, motion graphics, media art leaders
 SAVANNAH, Ga. — PES, one of the most sought-after stop motion directors in the world, is set to headline the Savannah College of Art and Design's Inspire 08, a one-day symposium April 18 that gathers the leading creative talents in the broadcast design, motion graphics and media art industry. As part of his presentation, PES will provide a sneak peek of his newly commissioned work "Western Spaghetti" that will debut at the Animation Show April 25 in Austin, Texas.
PES's work has been featured in The New York Times, Time Out, Print Magazine and Wired, and on the front pages of YouTube, boing boing and metafilter. He has directed television commercials for clients including Bacardi, Diesel, Sprint, Orange Telecom, Playstation and Coinstar.
Inspire 08 features sessions led by highly regarded firms including Troika Design Group, Digital Kitchen, Brand New School and Psyop at SCAD's historic Trustees Theater, 216 E. Broughton St. Sessions cover a wide range of topics, from interactive motion graphics and the art of main-title design to brainstorming techniques, the role of writing and experimental and fine art animation.
Following the day's sessions, Stash Magazine presents the Best of Motion Graphics Show, a big-screen presentation of the industry's best and most innovative motion graphics of the year. The evening wraps with the Inspire 08 Awards and an after-party, both hosted by (mt) Media Temple.
