Fathi Bakkoush has been teaching at SCAD since 1990 and serves as the graduate student adviser in the graphic design department. In addition, he is a creative consultant for Akacia Design in Taiwan and ElDib Enterprise in Egypt. He also has worked as an art director for Roberts Motors, the company that built kit cars for "Miami Vice," "SpeedZone" and the "Delta Force" movies. Bakkoush has conducted presentations on five continents and continues to represent SCAD and his students' work in international venues. He has served as a judge for the Pensacola, Fla., Addys in 2007; the Association of Free Community Papers in Denver, 2005-07; and the SCAD annual Sidewalk Arts Festival since 2000. He also has been a reviewer for the AIGA-JAX Portfolio Review Committee in Jacksonville, Fla., since 1994, and is on the graphic design scholarship committee at SCAD.

Kristie Bruzenak began her career in art education by serving as a board member for the Pennsylvania Art Education Association. She studied classical drawing and design at the Barnstone Studios for seven years before earning her Master of Fine Arts degree. Bruzenak taught drawing and design at Kutztown University and spent five years in the art and architecture department at Lehigh University, where she also served as a design education consultant for the mechanical engineering department. In the foundation studies department at SCAD, she initiated a course, Drawing for Design, that has become a requirement for several majors. She has exhibited her work regionally and nationally.

Joseph DiGioia came to Savannah after more than 20 years of working as a practicing design professional for noted Fortune 500 companies including GE, United Technologies, and Proctor & Gamble. He describes himself as an enthusiastic, self-motivated, big-picture and detail-driven thinker, whose skills are bolstered by a strong academic foundation. Jonathan Field, Ph.D., is an experienced lecturer and artist with extensive knowledge in coordinating a range of art education programs. He is committed to an interdisciplinary model of art education and has established a strong exhibiting portfolio. His area of expertise is the 20th century, particularly the post-War period, with a focus on the relationship between postmodern American literature and visual representation. Merrick Henry joined the SCAD graphic design faculty in Fall 2004. His academic interests include typography, digital page layout, Web design and corporate identity. He has served as a production assistant with Arliss Studios in Burbank, Calif., where his responsibilities included art direction and other on-site duties, and in 2001, he was hired as public coordinator/creative designer for Middle Georgia College in Cochran, Ga. In 2003-04, Henry was part of the team that designed and developed the . Born in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Henry has traveled with several nonprofit organizations, including the Amaranth Foundation and the People to People Sports Ambassador Program, to Spain, Peru, Australia and New Zealand. He also has accompanied SCAD graphic design students to workshops and lectures at SCAD-Lacoste and in Spain, France, Denmark and Sweden.

She holds a Master of Science degree in intelligent knowledge-based systems from the University of Essex in the United Kingdom. A native of Singapore, she moved to the United States in 2001. Leong has more than 15 years of experience in the industry. She has taught at institutes of higher education in Singapore, Australia and the U.S. Over the years she has managed a multimedia start-up, as well as consulting and managing projects for numerous companies and government statutory boards in Singapore and Japan. Her areas of expertise include computer programming, systems design, local area networking, artificial intelligence, smart-card applications, electronic publishing, Internet and multimedia technologies, and interactive entertainment.

John Sharp is an interaction designer, information architect, graphic designer and art historian. He has been involved in art and design for 19 years in a variety of media: game design, interaction design, graphic design, printmaking, and radio and club DJing. A 1994 graduate of the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, he pursued a career in interior design and construction-site management. Although this experience provided a strong foundation in occupational knowledge, he felt his artistic qualifications needed further broadening, so he moved to Savannah to study at SCAD. "As a professor, I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for space, color, form and light, and experimenting with ways in which different media enhance architectural perspective," he said.
