Applicants to the graphic design program are encouraged to submit a portfolio. Interviews are encouraged but not required.

Applicants in graphic design and interactive design programs must submit a portfolio; applicants in historic preservation must submit a portfolio or research paper. These materials are evaluated by selected faculty and the Admission Review Committee. Interviews and GRE scores are encouraged but not required. GRE scores are considered valuable in evaluating candidates, with preference given to students with GRE scores at or above the national average.

Students who enroll in SCAD-eLearning courses must possess basic computer skills and have regular access to appropriate computer hardware, software and Internet connectivity in order to participate fully in course work.
